Alyssa Tong is a long-time Jenkins contributor. Currently, she is a member of the Jenkins Advocacy and Outreach SIG. She drives and manages Jenkins participation in community events and conferences like Google Summer of Code, FOSDEM, SCaLE, DevOps World, and KubeCon. She is also responsible for Community Programs at CloudBees, Inc.

Expanding Open Source in Africa with Jenkins - Experience Report

The She Core Africa Contribution paid 16 women in Africa to contribute to sponsored open source projects for a month.  This session will share our experiences and the lessons we learned from mentoring women in Africa as they spent a month contributing to an open source project.  We'll discuss organizational challenges, mentor recruiting, technology complications, and more.
